Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AuditySEO collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit our website or use our products.

Last updated: June 16, 2026

1. Introduction

AuditySEO ("AuditySEO", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the AuditySEO website, use our WordPress plugins, or use the SEO Analyzer tool (collectively, the "Services"), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect a limited amount of information in connection with the Services:

  • Contact form data. When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message so that we can respond to your inquiry.
  • Website usage data. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies (via Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Microsoft Clarity) to collect information about how visitors interact with our site, such as pages viewed, referral source, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address. Microsoft Clarity may also record session interactions — such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling — to generate heatmaps and session replays.
  • License and account data.If you purchase a Pro plan for one of our plugins, Freemius collects and processes information needed to issue and manage your license, including your email address, billing details, and basic site information (such as site URL and plugin version), in accordance with Freemius's own privacy policy.
  • Plugin diagnostic data. Our plugins may collect non-personal diagnostic information (such as WordPress and PHP versions, active theme, and plugin settings) to help us provide support and improve compatibility, where you have opted in to share usage data.

We do not collect any content that visitors upload to your WordPress site (for example, photos submitted through Comment Image Boost) — that content is stored on your own WordPress hosting and is never transmitted to AuditySEO.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your messages, questions, and support requests.
  • Provide, maintain, and improve our website, plugins, and the SEO Analyzer.
  • Issue, validate, and manage Pro plugin licenses and related billing.
  • Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve content, navigation, and performance.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, and security issues.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (GA4), and Microsoft Clarity to understand traffic patterns and improve our website. Microsoft Clarity records session interactions (mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling) to generate heatmaps and session replays that help us identify usability issues.

When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner gives you the choice to accept or reject non-essential tracking. Selecting Accept all enables full analytics and session recording. Selecting Reject non-essential keeps all non-essential tracking disabled — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity will not set cookies or collect behavioural data. Only cookies strictly necessary for the site to function are used in either case.

We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which means Google Analytics operates in a cookieless, privacy-preserving mode until you grant consent. No user-level cookies are set before your choice is recorded.

To change your preference at any time, clear the local storage entry audity_cookie_consentfor our domain in your browser's developer tools, or clear all site data — the consent banner will reappear on your next visit. You can also control or disable cookies directly through your browser settings.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with the following categories of third parties, solely to operate and improve the Services:

  • Resend — used to deliver email when you submit our contact form.
  • Freemius — used to process Pro plugin purchases, issue licenses, and manage subscriptions and billing.
  • Google (Analytics and Tag Manager) — used for website analytics, as described in Section 4.
  • Microsoft (Clarity) — used for session recording and heatmap analytics, as described in Section 4.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — used to host and serve our website and related services.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or safety of AuditySEO, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6. Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping purposes. License and billing information is retained by Freemius in accordance with their retention practices and applicable law. Analytics data is retained according to the default and configured retention settings of Google Analytics.

7. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which can include the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10. We will respond to verifiable requests within the timeframes required by applicable law. For information related to Pro license purchases, you may also contact Freemius directly, as they act as the merchant of record for these transactions.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect the information we hold from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

10. International Data Transfers

AuditySEO and the third-party providers described in this policy may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where this occurs, we rely on the safeguards and mechanisms provided by our service providers (such as Google, Resend, and Freemius) to ensure that information receives an adequate level of protection.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Services, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

12. Contact Us
